My blog is intended for young tech savvy College and University students who intend to organize and plan their days well, who also have a drive to do well. It is intended for Apple users, however as you read my blog you will see that some apps mentioned can be used on Android and Windows computer. Hope you enjoy!
Outliner is an app created by CarbonFin which is an apple exclusive app, this app makes it extremely simple ad easy to create to do lists. This app is different than the others in the blog because it is less time consuming during the setup, you can create to do lists for the current day and the next day which is amazing for students because they have an abundance to do. Whether its academically or even cleaning around the house so your parents will just stop nagging, this app will save you time and plenty of headaches! Another great feature is that this app has is the ability to track projects uploaded on to the app anywhere or anytime and also edit them as well which makes it super convenient to use when you are not around your laptop or desktop apple computer. Also you are able to interact with other outliner users which is ideal for group projects.
The app is also free which makes it essential for students because it has no cost to use it, especially for me with the cost of books and tuition i definitely do not want the added cost of a monthly fee for using an app to do my school work. It has an easy, sleek interface and which makes it more aesthetically pleasing, promoting everyday use with its simplicity. I strongly recommend downloading this app, it saves time and reminds you of what needs to be done and when.

Focus Booster is one of the best apps on the market to balance your work, social, active and most importantly school life! This application is mainly intended for Apple computers but had windows capabilities. Focus Booster does exactly what it sounds like, it improves the users focus by keeping track of what has been completed and how long the user was doing the items for. The app mentions “For every interruption it is proven to take up to 25 minutes to get back on course” (Booster, 2013), the app intends to show the user where they left off and through this Focus Booster will help a student save time and get back on track faster. Let’s face it, there are times when you get off track when doing an assignment or important studying. However, if an app is telling you to get back on track and even shows you where you left off it becomes less difficult to do so.
Some interruptions are unavoidable, whether its as simple as going to the washroom or a real emergency you can save incomplete sessions and get back to them later. Focus booster offers a free 30 day trial to all of its new coming users, and I defiantly recommend you try it out. However, when the free app expires they will charge 2.99$ a month to use this service which will defiantly be a turn off to many readers of my blog and users of the app, because simply put free is always best.

IProcrastinate is a IOS MacBook application made for MacBook’s and MacBook’s only, it is perfect for overwhelmed students and helps them remain organized with assignments, homework and due dates. IProcrastinate helps sort assignments and items in the order that they need to be done in. Basically this application helps you sort what needs to be done first and when, by using a color coordinate system and it also sorts by due dates a student can use this app everyday on their IOS system.
The app has two main views on the screen, one is a list of activities that need to be done and the other a calendar, which would be a perfect visual when deciding which items need to be completed first. The app has a user friendly interface but does take sometime to figure out how to work it, IProcrastinate has a very appealing interface and another massive bonus to using this app is that it syncs with drop box, meaning you can view it on your mobile device via screen grabbing which is perfect for on the go situations. The app is easily downloadable and available on multiple internet platforms as well, another big pro to this app is that it does sync with IPhone wirelessly, which a massive plus for the IPhone and Mac users. This app is one of many from Craig Otis who is the credited developer of, and his idea has helped make the life of students all over many countries a lot more organized and a lot less stressful!
Google Drive is arguably one of the most popular apps for students, personally I used Google Drive all throughout high school. It is a service that allows users to create and share files (including photos and videos) for free through a google cloud service. It offers a services similar to Microsoft word through Google docs and Microsoft power point through Google PowerPoint as well as basic email all in one application on your desktop, and laptop device. Unlike the other apps I mentioned in this blog, this is available through all laptops as the app is found via Google Lastly, its email service is the well known Gmail which many people already frequently use.
One drawback to this service is you simply have to create a Gmail account which you then use on google drive. This is a small price to pay for such free great services that can greatly help students improve work quality and convenience. You can also download Google Docs, Google PowerPoint, and Google Drive individually on mobile devices via the app store, and play store; so you can view all your work on the go, which helps you organize what work needs to be done. Google Drive starts out your free account with 15GB free of online storage, and has more available for other prices, it has 3 available plans one being 100GB of storage for 1.99$ a month, 1TB for $9.99 per month, 10TB for $99.99 per month, although for a basic student to store his files 15GB should be more than enough! Enjoy the free service everyone!
